Overview

                                                       Yoga Retreat & Hike Manang

Aatma Bodh – The Journey Within

In the high solitude of Manang, where the Annapurna peaks pierce the sky and turquoise lakes mirror eternity, yoga is not merely practiced—it is lived as a breath of the mountains.

Philosophy as Landscape Here, yogic philosophy is written in the terrain itself. The impermanence of glaciers teaches Anitya (non-permanence). The unyielding rock reflects Dhairya (fortitude). The philosophy is one of harmony with elemental forces, seeing the divine (Brahman) not in temples alone, but in the wind-swept passes and the silent, star-clustered nights.

Meditation as Sky-Gazing Meditation here becomes a natural state. Sitting by the Marsyangdi River, the mind's chatter dissolves into the river's roar. Gazing at the vast, empty sky (Akasha), one practices Dhyana, merging inner space with outer infinity. The thin, crisp air demands conscious breath, turning each inhalation into a mindful ritual.

Yogic Practices in Rhythm with the Land The practices are ancient, raw, and adaptive:

Pranayama is practiced with the cold, pure air, charging the body for the altitude. Asana is performed on sun-warmed stones, poses like Tadasana (Mountain Pose) feeling like a dialogue with the giants that surround. Mantra echoes in the valleys, blending with Buddhist prayers from monastery horns, a symphony of sacred sound. Ritualistic Kriyas and offerings honor the local deities of land and sky, weaving Tantric and animist traditions into a seamless spiritual tapestry. The Aesthetic & Spiritual Union The aesthetic is one of sublime austerity. Beauty is found not in ornament, but in the stark clarity of light, the texture of weathered prayer flags, and the profound quiet. Spirituality is the intimate awareness of being a tiny, yet conscious, part of this immense, breathing cosmos.

Ultimately, in Manang, yoga is the art of inner pilgrimage. It is the journey of making one's spirit as vast as the valleys, as steady as the peaks, and as clear as the Himalayan sky—finding the universe within, mirrored perfectly in the majestic world without.

 Prologue from Mamta

Namaste, my name is Mamta.

My journey with yoga began as a personal exploration, but over time, it has evolved into a deeper purpose—guiding others back to themselves.I come from a strong athletic background and have always been passionate about exploring different forms of fitness. I have played basketball at the national level, which instilled in me discipline, resilience, and a deep understanding of physical performance. Alongside this, I also completed my Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Courses, which further strengthened my connection with both physical endurance and mental strength.

Following this path, I pursued yoga more deeply and earned both a Diploma and a Master’s degree in Yoga, along with specialized certifications in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga. I have been practicing yoga since childhood and teaching professionally for over six years.Throughout my journey, I have worked with individuals and groups across different age groups and fitness levels—from students and working professionals to homemakers and those dealing with lifestyle-related conditions like back pain, thyroid imbalance, and diabetes. What makes my approach unique is simple—I truly believe that yoga is not “one practice fits all.” Every session I design is personalized, keeping in mind your body, your energy, your lifestyle, and your goals. Whether someone wants to improve their overall well-being or work towards advanced asanas like Handstand, Hanumanasana, Bakasana, or Eka Pada Bakasana, I guide them with a mindful and structured approach.

For me, yoga is not about achieving perfect postures. It is about awareness, connection, and coming back to yourself. Seeing my students grow stronger—physically, mentally, and emotionally—is what inspires me every day. Through my sessions, workshops, and online platforms, I aim to share the true essence of yoga as a holistic way of living. I invite you to take a pause, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself—because true transformation begins from within.

Thank you.
