The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a classic short Himalayan trek that combines scenic mountain views, traditional villages, and rhododendron forests. The journey begins with an overland drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara & next day Pokhara to the trekking starting point at Nayapul, passing through scenic river valleys and mid-hill settlements. The trail gradually ascends through terraced farmlands, dense rhododendron and oak forests, and traditional Gurung and Magar villages, providing rich cultural encounters along the way. The trek’s highlight is an early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m), renowned for its spectacular sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. After enjoying the panoramic Himalayan scenery, the route continues along scenic ridgelines before descending to the culturally vibrant village of Ghandruk, known for its traditional architecture and mountain vistas. The trek concludes with a drive back to Pokhara & Kathmandu, making it a compact yet rewarding journey that combines natural beauty, cultural immersion, and accessible trekking conditions.
